Week 2: 3

 Music and Editing

As I am the main planner, and Alyssa is the main editor, today we discussed what music and editing should take place throughout the entire film. Durning the introduction, when credits are being displayed, there will be an upbeat, happy song playing. This will create the illusion that the girls are happy and living a normal day in their lives, not expecting anything bad to happen. To contrast this, in the scenes of the Uber driver getting ready with the weapons, there will be eerie music playing quietly on the background. This will create a suspenseful and horror-like effect for the viewer, which will contribute to the crime/ horror genre. There will also be opera music playing in the scene where we throw clothes in slow motion. This will add a layer of comedy to the film.

Props

I decided that many props will be necessary in order to follow the stereotypes of teenagers and to make the Uber driver seem like a real kidnapper. Props that will be used while getting ready include make-up, clothes, hair brushes, straighteners, curling irons, purses, phones, a bed, a mirror, a vanity, high heels, and cups. For the FaceTime scene, Ryne will need to be holding a solo cup to show underage drinking. This will also follow that stereotype of teenagers. In the Uber driver scenes, we will need a car, chainsaw, axe, gloves, rope, and a phone. We will also need a missing poster and a pole to hang in up on for the final scene. I chose these props, as they will all help to follow the stereotypes of teenagers and murderers, as well as establishing a solid level of continuity throughout the film.
